Historical Reenactors Guild

After getting the HRG news letter today, I realized that there has been no real mention of the HRG on this board.
And I think the organization is well worth mentioning. Not only will I mention the Historical Reenactors Guild, I have also created a space on this board dedicated to it.
Its been around eight months since I first became a member of HRG, since that time I have gotten to know a few of their members. I really appreciate the mutual respect that they show other reenactors, including myself, and other members of the Black Hawk War Society.

In the news letter that I received today, I found enclosed a mission statement from HRG. I'd like to included that statement here now.

HRG MISSION STATEMENT

That HRG members will helpl to maintain the authenticity and correctness of historical re-enactments, encampment and rendezvous events.

That HRG members will assist to provide educational programs, school events, demonstrations and/or reenactments of historical life that are authentic and realistic.

That HRG members will provide a historically correct atmosphere at all encampments and rendezvous events by our attire, conversation, equipment and deportment.

That HRG members are encouraged, and have all freedom, to expand their expertise to any historical event, social event etc. Any fees collected by the member for such purposes shall be for the sole use of that member.

That HRG members may continue to attend any event of their choosing but are encouraged to attend events that recognize the GUILD.

That the Historical Reenactors Guild will help to provide networking and encouragement among members to aid in the evolution and development of their choice of portrayal.

Aug 8-10 Kenosha Tall Ship event, (by invitation)

Aug 8-10 King WI

Aug 14-17 Silver Cliff Crivitz WI (good shoot)

Sept 4-7 Platteville WI

Sept 26-28 Westfield Rendezvous

Oct 17-19 Trail of History ( great event!)
